Storyboard of volume 2
The characters of volume 2
The series' main character, Lila, is simply adorable. This unusual young girl has wanted to become a good person ever since she met Jules. But her mysterious past might just catch up with her.
Jules, a quiet young man and son of a military man, grew up with a strict upbringing and excelled at the Apex Military Academy. Patriotic and possessing a natural authority, he is ready to do anything to find the Venefices and see Capucine again.
Félie, an orphan from Épineux and a renowned messenger in TOMÉE, is a force of nature despite her small stature. Endearing but with a strong character, she dreams of becoming rich and buying her own private island, and intends to use the Vénéfices to achieve this.
Nathan, a gifted and logical genius, is uninterested in his studies and rejects the adult world. Supported by a loving family, he dreams of becoming a free-spirited artist. Thanks to his maternal nature, he naturally becomes the "father figure" of the group.
Basile, a history enthusiast and a veritable walking encyclopedia, dreams of attending the University of Pius Maggiore to become a professor. But his lack of self-confidence hinders his ambitions. Sensitive and enthusiastic, this big teddy bear is a formidable fighter, trained by his mother.
Capucine, a shy and mysterious young woman, is searching for the Vénéfices (Benefits) in an attempt to cure her incurable illness. Dark and secretive, she may well be keeping the most important information about the Vénéfices quest to herself.
Aude works with her father at the Cochon Goulu, the bar next to the Pylore library, where she has become friends with the protagonists. Enthusiastic and principled, she follows their adventures with amusement.
Simon, Aude's father, is a warm man always ready to give good advice.
Victoire and Côme, Basile's parents, had always dreamed of seeing one of their children pursue higher education, especially Victoire. Since Basile was the most academically inclined, they placed all their hopes on him… wrongly.

Nicole, who became Matron at only 21, is determined to make her Family dominate. Through a more subtle strategy than her predecessors, she has gradually taken control of a large part of TOMÉE's economy. Supported by Constance, Rosalin, and Yvon, she rules the clan with an iron fist despite a past marked by her father's death and her mother's abandonment. Her three tattooed tears symbolize her rank as Matron.
Douce is a tough and intimidating woman. She is a world-renowned artist, known for her literary and theatrical works, especially in Tomée. Although she refuses to get involved in family matters, she keeps a watchful eye on her niece Nicole and remains available to the Matron when needed.
Constance, a talented fighter and natural leader, is deeply involved in Family affairs alongside Nicole, whom she envies despite her affection for her. Mocked for marrying her cousin Yvon, she remains devoted to her clan and her Matron.
Rosalin, Constance's father and Nicole's uncle, assists Nicole with family matters while remaining a loving father to his daughter. Haunted by the fear of his mother Charlotte and the loss of his wife, he has become angry and bitter, but remains deeply attached to Constance, whom he had hoped to see become Matron.
Loup, Nicole's younger brother, is only 13 years old at the beginning of the story and was raised by his aunt Marguerite after the death of his father and the departure of his mother. Very close to his sister, he shares a deep bond with her and admires her profoundly.
Yvon, Nicole's cousin and Constance's husband, is discreet but always ready to support his family and his wife in all their endeavors. He is close to Nicole and Loup.
Marguerite, daughter of Eleanor, is gentle and shy, and has always avoided family quarrels, keeping herself out of clan affairs. A talented sculptor, she raised Loup and was a great support to Nicole to compensate for their mother's absence.
Lila : Marguerite's mother and sister of the former Matron Charlotte, Éléonore is completely senile. But it would seem she's not just talking nonsense…
Harpy : Leader of the deBRABAND clan militia
Edmond ARGINIER : Edmond, Nicole de BRABAND's assistant, comes from a family loyal to the clan for centuries. Stressed but meticulous, he is determined to do his job well and serve his clan to the best of his ability.
Raymond SAINT PHOR : Mischievous and surprising, Raymond was taken in by the deBRABAND family while living on the streets. He works for Nicole, aiming to buy Oddi and control its port, thus becoming the town's powerful lord. A loyal friend of Lila since 1922, he is completely devoted to her and looks forward to each of her visits to TOMÉE.

Donatien, son of Matron Millim, never wanted to become Matron and prefers to live in his own world, playing chess. Quite handsome, he is often praised by the tabloids. His mother, Apolline, betroths him to Nicole de Braband to unite their two families.
Apolline, Matron of the MILLIM clan, is desperate after losing control of her ancestral territory in the North of TOMÉE, now fragmented among different gangs. In her distress, she turns to the deBRABAND family, hoping for their help to reconquer the North… but was she right to do so?
Despite her cute appearance, Atra is a little old lady who is anything but cute.
Vertille, a young, alopecic girl with a strange appearance, is a formidable antagonist. Discover her in the upcoming volumes.
Under Vertille's orders, Anatole has the same strange appearance: aged skin, black eyes, white hair... But who are these characters?
This is a storyboard
These designs are, of course, not the final ones.
The storyboard is mainly there for composition work, colour palettes, and proofreading.
The lettering isn’t very pretty at this stage because I used Transmonkey to save time for the translated storyboard. I have very little free time, and lettering the entire storyboard in English would take me at least a day and a half.
The lettering in the final version is, naturally, flawless.
